Our Friendly matches have been just that - 'friendly'. With 5 results still to come in, the Club won 9 matches and came second in 31, with four cancelled by the opposition (maybe they were too scared to play us). It has definitely been a case of 'it's the taking part that counts'.........
18th September - After winning the HBA East Area Cup, Buntingford's Men were beaten by just 1 shot in the Semi Finals of the HBA County League Play Offs at Garston. Buntingford were drawn to play against 7 times Champions Roebuck Bowls Club who bought a very strong team with them containing 6 current, or previous HBA Middleton Cup Players. In a hard fought match it came down to the very last end across the two rinks when the result was decided by a fortunate 'wick' with Roebucks last bowl coming in for shot. It was a disappointing end to a great match for Buntingford, but another great achievement to reach this stage of the competition. Buntingford were then pegged back as the score reduced to just three shots over the two rinks towards the end of the match but they kicked on to record an excellent victory.
